OUR MISSION
The Soldiers Guardian Angels consist of a wonderful group of volunteers dedicated to honoring and supporting those service members who so bravely put their life on the line to defend the rights and freedoms we all enjoy in this country. The S.G.A. hosts Welcome Home or Deployment Celebrations, Motorcade Escorts and Village Appreciation Ceremonies. We also help to coordinate Honor Missions to send our Veterans to their final resting place with honor, respect and dignity they have earned. Although we are based in Frankfort/New Lenox Township, we will gladly serve or help in any other areas if called upon whenever possible. We encourage the participation of all organizations and rider groups, 2 wheels or 4, to join us and welcome any presentations, gifts, etc., to our heroes or their family members. The more the merrier! We like to roll out the red carpet for our warriors!
Inspired by Mokena's Mayor Joe Werner, after a return of our local hero, Sgt. Brian Poplin, the Soldiers Guardian Angels was formed. With the help of co-founder Tony Marmo, and the escort support of the ALR 615, quickly the word spread, patriotic volunteers came on board, and networking had begun in earnest! The S.G.A. can proudly say, that with the overwhelming response from our surrounding villages, we were able to make many men and women of military service, and their families, know that the sacrifices they made for love of this great country were deeply appreciated. If you would like the S.G.A. to help set up a celebration for your hero, please contact us at any time by phone or email listed above.
DONATIONS & VOLUNTEERING
The S.G.A. is made up of Patriotic volunteers who love their country and those who served to make it the land of the free because of the brave. We are politically active for the benefits of our active Service Members, Veterans and Country. Therefore, we are not a charitable organization. However, it takes more than a strong will, physical labor and networking, to give our heroes the respect and honor they all so rightly deserve. We always welcome more volunteers and do accept donations. If you are interested in devoting your time or help fund our efforts, please contact us at any time. If you would like to be on our email list for upcoming events or networking, simply email sgangels@comcast.net with your request.
